The Immortal Blogger

Change AheadA Blog, according to Wikipedia.com, “…is a word that was created from two words: “web log”. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.” Ah, but it’s so much more than that.

To me, a blog is the chronicle of one’s ideas. I recently watched an episode of 30-Rock where Alec Baldwin’s character Jack Donaghy finds out he’s going to be having a son. He immediately sets to creating a series of videos to educate his son, if he’s not able to provide that information during his child’s lifetime (Due to him being an “old-dad.” Something I feel myself, being 35 with a 3 year old). The resulting videos are a cascade of Jack’s most precious ideas, beliefs and dogmatic perspectives.

Within a blog the world of possibilities are endless. We can record our existence and share the good and the bad times with, well, anybody. In a sense we become immortal.  But it’s more than that. We can teach, enlighten and entertain.  We can express our true feelings, we can cry foul, we can even change the world.

Ok, what did I just say? “Change the world?” It’s true. Anything’s possible through thought, and bloggers are thoughts on express trains, with stops in every burg, village and town.

What do you have to say about blogs?  Put it here, or post your blog and I will read it.  If it’s good, I’ll even comment on it. And maybe, just maybe, if it can change the world for the better, I’ll personally carry it around the planet myself.
